The Allen Lowrance family
of Sitka, Alaska
When I was reading a book in 2002 that I had just borrowed from my new-found 4th cousin Gerald Witt, I discovered the family of my friends in Sitka. Gerald's book The History of Eastern Kerr County, Texas, has them on pages 135 to 137.
Previously, I had determined that my friends here in Sitka were related to a 3rd cousin of mine with the surname of Lowrance. Both families had told me anyone with their exact spelling had to be cousins, and I did find a genealogy to connect the families. My third cousin is related to my Grandfather by his Claire family, while Gerald and I are related thru Grandfather's grandmother who was the McFadin.
The late Allen Lowrance of Sitka came here from
California when I was a baby. His son Daniel was born the same day and
year as I, but in California. We grew up together.
